Industries
Which accessibility law applies to your industry?
It depends on what you do and who pays for it. The Swedish Accessibility Act (LPTT) covers services to consumers, such as e-commerce and ticket sales. The DOS Act covers the public sector and private providers of care and education that are publicly funded in any part. The Discrimination Act applies to everyone who sells goods and services to the public.

Common questions about accessibility laws and industries
- Which accessibility law applies to our business?
- It depends on what you do and who pays for it. If you sell goods or services to consumers online, the Swedish Accessibility Act (LPTT) often applies. If you are a public actor, or a private provider of care or education that is publicly funded in any part, the DOS Act applies. The Discrimination Act applies to everyone who sells goods and services to the public.
- Can several laws apply at the same time?
- Yes. A private care provider that also sells goods to consumers online can be covered by both the DOS Act and the Accessibility Act, and the Discrimination Act applies alongside both.
- Do the laws apply to smaller organisations?
- Microenterprises are exempt from the Accessibility Act's requirements on services: fewer than ten employees and an annual turnover or balance sheet total of no more than 2 million euros. The DOS Act has no such threshold. There it is enough that the business is publicly funded in any part.
